What makes this piece special

Golden gohei ornaments unfolding behind the helmet.

A gohei-shaped crest sits at the rear of the helmet. Glimpses of gold emerge beyond its black outline, changing as you move around it. This Yamauchi Kazutoyo suit invites admiration from the side and rear as well as the front.

Orderly diamond-pattern lacing across leather.

Neat stitches follow the curved, leather-covered cuirass. Light reveals the character of the leather and the rhythm of its small raised details. The restrained black surface offers textures that reward a closer look.
