What makes this piece special

The character for love against a brown helmet.

A crest bearing 愛 (love), finished with genuine gold leaf, rises above a brown helmet constructed with sixty-two plates and raised ribs. The subdued background brings out the character's outline and the brilliance of the gold. Discover the distinctive helmet details of this reproduction based on the original armor.

Gold, white, and the softness of yak hair.

The shoulder guards and skirt plates combine genuine gold-leaf-covered scales with white lacing and yak hair along their lower edges. The sheen of gold, the weave of the cords, and the texture of the hair meet in a single design, inviting close comparison.

Changing layers across a brown cuirass.

The two-piece cuirass uses different scale arrangements across the chest and lower torso. Varying widths and overlapping rows create detail within the subdued brown finish. The contrast with the ornate shoulder guards adds another reason to look closely.
